Achieve Over 300 Molding Cycles Before Cleaning with Huron Technologies' Release Coating 7840

Huron Technologies, Inc. has developed a new water based release agent for polyurethane molded products using in-mold paint. Release Coating 7840 provides consistently cleaner molds with less build up on the mold surface, delivering extended mold cycles before cleaning. With proper mold care, aluminum molds can realize more than 300 molding cycles before thorough cleaning is required. Automotive steering wheels, handles, office furniture and interior trim components are typical polyurethane in mold paint products which benefit from the release technology of Release Coating 7840.

Lasting benefits of Release Coating 7840 include:

  • Minimal build up ‐ A unique blend of wax and silicone in Release Coating 7840 keeps mold surfaces clean longer, allowing more parts molded per cycle.
  • Smooth, defect free parts ‐ Release Coating 7840 is formulated to provide excellent release ease and consistent unblemished parts at mold temperatures from 110 ‐ 145°F (43 ‐ 62°C).
  • More parts molded per gallon ‐ Spray application of 20‐30 grams per minute is sufficient in releasing most in‐mold painted parts, reduces the amount of release agent needed, and makes the molding process more cost effective.

Huron Technologies, Inc. develops and manufactures release agents for rubber elastomers, composites, concrete, and polyurethane systems, providing a wide range of off‐the‐shelf release agents as well as custom mold release agents to meet customer requirements.
