Plastics Engineering Completes First BPA Audit

Plastics Engineering has completed its first BPA Worldwide business publication audit.

Glenn J. Hansen, BPA Worldwide President, praised Plastics Engineering for voluntarily opening its records to independent verification and documentation of its circulation data.

Hansen pointed out that the audit facilitates the buying and selling of advertising space. A BPA Worldwide report provides advertisers and agencies with assurance that what they choose to invest in does, in fact, reach target audiences for specific ads. The BPA Worldwide audit also helps media companies by documenting the quality of their audiences.

Recycling of Non-Bottle Rigid Plastics in the United States Up Nearly 50 Percent in Two Years

The American Chemistry Council today released a new report <http://www.americanchemistry.com/s_plastics/sec_content.asp?CID=1593&DID=11690>  which documents a dramatic increase in the collection and recycling of post-consumer non-bottle rigid plastics across the United States. The report, prepared by Moore Recycling Associates, Inc., found that in 2009, nearly 480 million pounds of post-consumer rigid plastics were collected for recycling nationwide, an increase of nearly 33 percent from 2008 and 47% since 2007.
